Summary

Activity Description:

This year has seen some key changes in vaccine formulations and recommendations, especially pneumococcal. These changes serve as reminders of the importance of staying up-to-date. Attend this update to review best practice recommendations and new developments in adult vaccines. NOTE: This session will not include influenza, COVID-19, or RSV. Those will be presented in a separate webinar following the 2024 TPA Conference.

At the completion of this activity, pharmacists and technicians will be able to:

  1. Identify changes or updates to the 2024 immunization schedules for adults.
  2. Evaluate the most current Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommendations.
  3. Determine appropriate answers for the questions that commonly arise and discuss related counseling points and key considerations.
  4. Review Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) best practice guidelines.
  5. Examine vaccines under investigation or in the pipeline.

Texas Pharmacy Association (154) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. Continuing education will be provided to participants who completed all course requirements.
