Summary

Activity Description:
Effectively precepting student pharmacists requires more than a one-size-fits-all approach. Creating a customized learning experience for each student can lead to a more effective, enriching, and fulfilling educational experience. This session will help preceptors learn how to appropriately examine each student’s experience, interests, and goals, to incorporate activities to address the student's needs.
At the completion of this activity, pharmacists will be able to:

  1. Examine the student’s experience, interests, and professional goals and create a customized learning experience for each student.
  2. Assess the student’s basic knowledge and clinical skills and develop a remediation plan to address any knowledge or skill gaps.
  3. Incorporate research and professional development activities into your learning experience.
  4. Develop a feedback process for continuous quality improvement of your learning experience.

Texas Pharmacy Association (154) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. Continuing education will be provided to participants who completed all course requirements.
