Summary

Activity Description:
Approximately 98 million American adults—more than 1 in 3—have prediabetes, making it one of the most common conditions that pharmacists encounter. Of those with prediabetes, more than 80% don't know they have it. Learn what constitutes prediabetes, understand when medication therapy is appropriate to treat the condition, and how to evaluate a medication regimen.

At the completion of this activity, pharmacists will be able to:
1. Define pre-diabetes per the American Diabetes Association.
2. Determine when medication therapy is appropriate for pre-diabetes.
3. Evaluate a medication regimen for pre-diabetes.

At the completion of this activity, technicians will be able to:
1. Define pre-diabetes per the American Diabetes Association.
2. List medication used to treat pre-diabetes.

Texas Pharmacy Association (154) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. Continuing education will be provided to participants who completed all course requirements.
